I have been wanting to start a blog lately, but haven't really had anything noteworthy or exciting to write about. But... I figure that I can and should be doing something somewhat productive while I am wasting my time away on the computer.
I think that Christmas is as good a day as any to randomly share my thoughts. A couple of Sundays ago some guys sang a song in church that was just super good, and I loved the lyrics to it. The closing line of the song (In a Bleak Midwinter) really touched me, so I have tried to keep it in my thoughts this Christmas season and remember what it's really about.
"If I were a wise man I would do my part, but what can I give Him? I'll give Him my heart."
Any other gift we could give Him would surely seem insignificant in comparison to the ultimate sacrifice, so I am going to try my very hardest to give Him the one most important thing... My heart. I want to live my life in a way that He and anyone else who knows me will be proud to call me their friend.
While I do love all of the excitement and presents that accompany this time of year I have tried to remember that those are not the most important things. It's the time with family, and of course, the real 'reason for the season'.
Thanks a bunch to everyone who has been a part of my life this year, I love you all so much! Merry Christmas! :)
